Mine are dropping drastically in production. Their feathers are bedraggled, molt is waiting to happen.

Yup, same here...only one egg out of the 8 girls yesterday, lots of feathers in the coop & run and several hens have bare patches with pinfeathers starting to poke through. (That has to be miserable/itchy/tender?)

Shorter days are very noticeable now, production dropped sharply from average 5 or 6/day to one or two eggs a day lately. Wish I'd water-glassed more through the summer! But it was fun giving eggs away to family & friends and eating all that egg salad... (Thank you, my feathered ladies!)

Got 3 for now. Have to check again when I get home. Got home and had 3 more waiting for me to get.

0 eggs today, Helmi sat but she didn’t lay. She has just started molting, so I’m not sure we’ll get many more eggs from her until after the winter solstice.

That just leaves Brelly and Marzo as my active laying hens.
