How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

10/9: 1-Red 1-Nuz

We will see what happens today. Rain has made things just gross and I need to clean up a bit more than usual now that I am off work. Probably will add some extra pine shavings. It doesn't get too wet in the roofed run but not exactly dry with this humidity.

Does the low light on rainy days interfere with laying or laying times?

Dove was in a nesting box yesterday morning before daylight but didn't end up laying an egg that we could find. I was late to work because I couldn't find her at first but had to leave as soon as I spotted her there and found that she didn't actually disappear. It was unusual for her to be in the box at that time but my daughter reported that she was in the run, tail up, and normal behavior a couple hours later.

Been a rough week here, have had some sick chooks, Mycoplasmosis seems to have made it here. Treating birds all week is time consuming…..

And all the ones moulting are the ones really affected. Between those poor chickies and the broodies my eggs have dropped off sharply. Only 4 eggs today.

That’s ok though - I hope my gals all take a good long break and get better.

I got one from Red and one from Dove.

I am so happy for Dove! She had what I thought was a skin cancer for like a month because the hard part of the lesion was not budging or softening with compresses. I was about to start amoxicillin just on blind hope and the cap released from her skin when it was previously trapped by a raised circle of skin that looked way too much like a tumor.

I can not find photos of the progression I swear I took but guess I have been busy and out of it lately. I posted about it in the appropriate forum.
