Showed up after sunset last night to check up on food and water supply and grab eggs.
Found Spindly back in the nest, doing the hissing thing. I fear she has decided to put me through another round of broody madness and mayhem again.

And this while her two remaining little ones are just eight weeks old!

My girls surprised me with eggs this past week, just 1 or 2 a day but it has been 2 months eggless do to short days and molting. Now that adds a extra trip to the coop a day to get eggs before they freeze.

Two brown eggs as per usual. At the moment my two accidental acquisition Cinnamon Queens pretty much each give me an egg every morning. On the other hand, I'm getting maybe one blue egg a week from one of the four Legbars. Not sure who's laying that although I suspect Rain.

One big duck egg! It was huge, but it froze in the nest. These ducks lay more eggs than I know what to do with but I eat a lot of them! They are good in corn muffins as well as scrambled eggs.

Five! The wyandottes lay almost every day! They better be glad, because they are not my favorites! The little black chickens are way sweeter! However, I do need eggs for our family not just chicken friends

Adding 1 duck egg to 3 chicken eggs and make egg salad sandwiches. You'll never want to eat egg salad sandwiches again unless you have a duck egg to go in it.
