This has been happening with Flopsy and Daisy. I think Daisy feels she can raise her status by defeating Flopsy. Who was a higher ranked hen.

Today I noted that Daisy had ignored/left her alone. Flopsy has gained another 100g and is starting to feel more substantial. But I still keep her in the hospital crate in my feedroom when I am not around.

What breed laid the big colored egg.

A mix breed, EE is definitely in it.

None today... had 12 two days in a row but due to bad weather the girls were kept cooped. Today I found broken eggs and dirty beaks apparently they decided to protest in the worst way possible by going after the eggs.

5 eggs from 8 hens, the EE has been going all winter long, and is still going strong. The OE and Buffs are picking up. The Aussies and the GLW are slacking still. Hens are 3 years old.

I got 4 and found the hidden nest of 5 duck eggs. I just got home so I need to go check again. I'm at 12

Wow, got two eggs from our 12 year old hen today (well she laid the other one yesterday)! I’m telling you I wish I could have hatched from her in her prime. I cannot believe this bird is still alive, healthy, and laying eggs!

Are they odd shaped? Yeah, and the shells are weird, but wow! I don’t expect her to lay at all anymore, and she is enjoying her golden years with her favorite flock mate in her own retirement home. Every spring she lays a few, and every spring I assume it is her last year laying. But she is one impressive bird!
