Today was the first time we got 5 eggs from our 5 girls!

I have no idea how many eggs were laid out there today.

I collected them yesterday about 2 p.m. and this morning I had 15 in the nest boxes and have collected 5 since then.

I do know that I have 8 1/2 DOZEN in the fridge now and they are laying over a dozen a day!

I have to start using more eggs!

I have 28 hens and pullets in that coop. Don't know how many are laying now, but I assume it is most of them.

4 out of 4 - and they were all laid before 10am! Usually my Redstar and one of the Leghorns tend to lay later in the day, after I leave for work.

i found THREE today!

although I've been lagging on checking the brooding box.
mmmm....soft-boiled eggs, toasted sourdough, and Land O' Lakes butter for breakfast!!!

6/14 about normal. But it is so cold in the Seattle area. It is 25 degrees under the eaves of my house. The chicken coup is almost at freezing. I had to put another heat lamp in it. The girls look like they fairly comfortable, but most of them are huddling under the lamps. The water in the coup isn't frozen so I hope that is a good sign, and that the thermometer is just to close the window.
