How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

One coop had 7/7(only 1 sexlink in that group), the other had 3/16 Hmmm... weird, eh? Wonder what is up with that?! Anyway, 10/23 is pretty nice for the winter months; I'll take it!

2/23 again so today I went to town and got the ol' gals some suppliment to go with their layer pellets. I can understand half not laying because they're in full molt but just because they have taken off the rest of the year doesn't give the others a reason for slacking up. Maybe the higher protien feed might get those girls back on the stick, heck somebody's gotta help pay for all that feed they still eat whether they're laying or not.

19/21 from my standards, 1 ameraucana and 1 maran didn't lay today, and only 4/7 from my silkies. The silkies are also running and hiding from the 2 roos that are in with them so I believe that's why production is down.
I give them light 24/7 and extra protein to keep them laying in winter.

JoJo54, how are you getting such production up there in Canada? I mean, you should be having less than 7 or 8 hours of light each day and temps way, way low. Are your layers in a heated, lighted house or something? I've been getting 17 to 19 a day from my Gold Comets here in North Carolina and I'm really happy, but 25 out of 28 up there has got to be making you jump for joy...

I got my first golf ball sized beige colored egg from my little red pullet. I have 7 pullets all about 4 1/2 to 5 months old. Guess I'll be buying eggs from the old toothless guy down the road for awhile longer.

19/19 from my golden comets today, those girls are awesome

Hey Mxpres! I got 19 big brown ones from my 19 Gold Comets too!!! They slacked off yesterday with 16 but came roaring back today. When we got back in from running around Southern States, TSC, Sears, and Home Depot we had a full load. I got five early this morning when I let them out of the coop at 7 AM. They layed another 12 by 1 PM. Gotta love them GC's!!!
