18/32 today most of the Cochins layed and some of the other girls took the day off.

Speaking of which, for all you who live in or near central North Carolina, Shook Poultry in Claremont, NC has 400 eighteen week old Gold Comets for sale tomorrow. These are 'Started Pullets'. If they're like mine they'll be laying in four to five weeks. It's their first of four or five lots they'll be selling this year. From their web site they have a lot of them are still available. You can Google them and get the specifics. They're asking $6.50 each. This is where I got all of my 19 Gals from and they have been AAA+++ to say the least. They'll have their next lot in March. Apparently they are only going to sell started pullets this year and won't do peeps. I say Get 'em while they's hot!!!

Today I got my first egg!

So far 1 out of 6 hens....It was a pretty light brown egg laid right by the feeder...Yes I do have golf balls in the nest....
