I am on week 4 without an egg from 4 hens!!!!???? I'm so sad... they just got through a molt after being broody forever! I'm so aggitated.... Grrrrrrrrr

I just added two EEs to my 7 production reds. It's been a little over a week of getting just 3 eggs a day. This never happened before I added the EEs. I was used to getting 5 to 7 a day. I uped the protein and added vitamins to their water, but they are still slacking. Ike last two days I got light colored eggs, so I know 1 EE is laying(the other is too young).

Please give me some feedback about this being a time-of-year problem. I'm anxious for the day I'll get 9 eggs and I'm considering exchanging my EEs for Barred Rocks or more productive hens. I am deturmined to have more eggs with a cost that is lower than bought at the grocery store.

5 eggs out of 8 hens today! Maybe my other EE will lay her egg shortly. My RIRs are still hit and miss with their laying.

I got 6/6!! It took a long time for the girls to start laying after the molt!!

19/24 and that hen last night in the nest box wasnt broody, she wasnt in the box when I went in the morning to check on everybody

my customers are beginning to worry about their country fresh egg supply..my hens seem to be so slacking in their laying pattern I never know if I'm going to get three or sixteen,my egg business is going down the tube,,hmmmmm wonder if I could haggle this into a big tax write off?? anyone have any good ideas? any lawyers in the BYC that could advise me on a business loss?maybe a egg bailout?,hmmmmmmmmm.since I am the c.e.o. of the business...I should be allowed a huge bonus,,Right? seems to work for other businesses,,something to think about...
