How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/6 again, today, but a weird egg day.
One was super-dark brown and the size of a quail egg (guessing #6's first effort???) and one rolled out of overstuffed nest (thanks, honey, for all the mounds of comfy bedding) and landed in the grit/shell bowl and broke.
They ate it.

I was concerned they would want to eat them all, now. But egg #5 came after that, and was fine. I did shore up the front of the nest boxes, and take some of the straw out, so maybe tomorrow's egg won't land on the floor!
Still, 5 out of 6 is a good egg day!!!

Still only 1 egg a day, just from the leghorn. She laid her 1st egg a month ago tomorrow. The EE has been squatting and singing the egg song for 8 days now, but nothing yet. I think she's just messin' with my head.

Just came home from food shopping and there was a beautiful LARGE fresh brown egg in the coop! 1/1 baby! She is laying earlier this week because she took a day break and started her system all over again hehe. Still waiting on 4 others to start laying!
