4/6 at last look, last night, but one waiting for me at 7 this morning. Noooobody lays that early at my house!
I'm guessing yesterday might have been a 5 egg day, after all.

4/4 from the laying birds

with 2 younger Easter Eggers not even close to laying age

We were getting very worried our Barred Rock was laying her eggs under the deck or someplace hidden in the back/front yard. After an extensive search we did not turn up any eggs. We have found, however, a hollowed out mini nerf football, a couple of picked at foam balls, and one of those fisher price "little people" figures (they were tossing it around). What is better than 4 chickens laying is 4 chickens laying in NESTBOXES without adult supervision. They are ALL acclimated to the boxes now!

It was a crazy scene this morning....there was tons of cackling around 10 am in the morning. I came out to Foxy on a nest box and Shana our Barred Rock "checking out" the remaining box. There was a 2 chicken line up behind her (Edna and Scrappy) both pacing and cackling wildly....and chasing the Easter Eggers in frustration. Finally Shana decided she wasn't ready yet came out and Edna dashed in and quickly dropped her egg. Eventually everybody got a turn though.
