yesterday

i added a few new girls to the flock who are yet to lay...except today we got 7 eggs and 1 was very small, almost like a ping pong ball! im not sure if it was one of the new girls or what??

even when my original hens first started laying a few months ago we never got an egg that small... it is about the same color brown as my BR girls.. but i know their 4 eggs already. maybe one of the 2 new cochins, but i thought their eggs would bigger? they were already laying when i got them a few weeks ago, but no eggs for us from them yet. maybe it is so small because they were moved??

maybe it could be my Barnevelder pullets first egg???

if it is i was hoping it would be a bit darker that the BR eggs. but i have no idea who it is from

DH has the camera at work so i cant post a pic. maybe later... on tues and wed ill have to scope out the nests all day to try to catch whoever it is!!

Today's count was either 20 or 22, I brought some in this morning and some this evening, so I lost track.

As for how many birds this is from? Who knows? I think there's at least 100 chickens out there and most of them are girls

I have NO IDEA what I'm gonna do once spring REALLY gets here, anyone need some young layers?

11 of 24...traded 5 hens for 5 other hens that are just starting to lay

I had 7 out of 9 layers yesterday but none from the 4 pullets that seem to just be starting, hoping for a blue egg, but so far only kind of pink from one of them.

2 of the layers already this AM, more on the nest including one of the pullets
