6....I cleaned the coop, they were out all afternoon free ranging so I know there are a couple in the yard

My best friend called me this after noon.

She calls me all the time, so I said hi, and she said "WE GOT AN EGG!!!!"

I had been telling her that her leghorn would be laying any day now, but she said it was brown. Most likely laid by a BR or BA. Could have been theRIR, but she's a bit younger.

I love how a hen's rear end seems shockingly large and round all of a sudden, then they lay later that day.

5 eggs this am. This afternoon 6 ladies were roosting on the very edge of the nesting boxes. Think they were checking out the view-- since I never found anymore eggs!

put a bright light in there last night hoping that will wake up some chickie bums
