Woohoo! First eggs are so eggsciting! Congrats

its so cool opening the nesting boxes each morning and finding eggs every now and then i get a chicken scream at me for opening the box while she is still there but other than that its very satisfaing finding an egg

Yay "Gertie" is now officially a member of the layers club!!
4/4 outta the club members today, four ladies left waiting to officially start!
Here is her 1st egg so cute and tiny, a pretty light brown ;-)


All the clubs eggs! Love, love "Betty's darker brown" top left, "Frankie and Francine's"
both right, and "Gertie's" first bottom right!!!! Getting bigger now!!!

Still waiting on the 'Henchmen Sisters" to lay! They'd rather pose for the camera,
or peckout the lens!



Very puffy for such a tiny little egg!
"Gertie" spends most of her day controlling the feeder and talking up a storm!
It took her three rounds around the yard behind the shed and in the wood pile,
before she finally decided to lay her egg back in the nest boxes where she started !!!

Oh COOL!! WoW!! three eggs? didn't know they could do that! I am still waiting for our Reds to start up ;-)

Finally 3/3! My last pullet just started laying!

" limo" egg was indeed a double yolker. Being the mother of twins I love any thing twinish!
I brought the little neighbor girls in the coop one at a time today to see what Miss Lucy left in the nest box, and they were all so excited.

I got three today. One on the ground in front of the coop. I think I know who it was but not one single hen lays in a nesting box. Two lay in a nest they make in the coop and one lays wherever she happens to be.
