7/8 one softy though so hmm i think all 8 have actually layed, I'm pretty sure Gertie took the day off, and Snow was the owner of the softy!!! gonna get 8/8 hard shells here any day!!!

4 from 6 layers and one of the layers went full on broody today.

Broody is good? I love that Afro-Ninja!!!!, saw em on the "in your face" thread

looks like a chicken with an attitude!

Instead of getting 9 today we got 10. And another surprise....our tetra, who is 29 weeks now, did the egg squat tonite. I surely thought she was never going to lay an egg since her sisters all started laying 10 weeks ago. Now I can hope that she too will join in with the others!
Truly a red letter day for us!

It's a big day for us, our first 4-for-4 day! We've been waiting for our Buff Orpington, Buttercup, to start laying (our other girls started just after Labor Day) and yesterday we got our first soft shell egg...so I was thinking that was probably from Buttercup, and hoping for a 4-egg day to confirm it! Yay!!

still getting 3/13, but no problems with any of them. they all are just perfect and yummy! we are finally getting enough collected to start selling and the family is kept in plenty of eggs. ruby, bella, louise has been laying for quite awhile but my daughter hasn't tired of collecting the same eggs daily. she sure gets a kick out of coming home from school, running to the coop, BOOM there is her three perfect eggs!! i am expecting all six hens to start laying real soon. man that one nesting box that the 3 all use will get really full when all six start! but i am glad they are using the box instead of laying on the floor. so no complaints just happy owners/chickens!!

we are now on 2/3 now a day, however if the bovans goldline doesnt lay soon, we will be taking her to one side for a good talking to. We did show her the others eggs today and tell her this is what is needed LOL

HA! make that 8/8 one giant softy after lights out, Rhody was acting strange today when I came home from work like she was looking for a place to lay, i thought they were done for the day but she was the only one not on the roost and i found a huge softy in the nest box...still working on the kinks i guess

After a long 19 weeks and 3 days I finally got my first egg today so the official count is


1 out of 24 hopefully the rest will follow behind shortly.

We got 5 from six layers but my sweet Sizzle decided to go broody for real so no more laying for her until (hopefully) she hatches out the eggs I stuck under her.
