No not odd at all, and yes they share boxes. These crazy birds even share boxes at the same time, they'll sit on top of each other just so they can lay in their favorite box sometimes!!!!

7/7 today, nice girls!!! The hot oatmeal, sunflower meat, and layer pellet mash must be making them happy!
Ok I was a bit skeptically about this before today because I had never seen it happen but I had 8 eggs from 7 hens today

It finally happened: 7 out of 7!! WOW!
I just hope it doesn't happen too often; I'm up to my ears in eggs, now.

Thats odd. I've heard of that kind of thing before and it makes sense. I've had two similiar looking eggs in the same spot one day, and I know they share spots but the rest usually lay in the nesting boxes though...7/7 today, nice girls!!! 6 hens 27weeks old 3 hens a laying ,not bad but the kids really like the fresh eggs.The other 3 need to pick up the pace .
Yesterday we only got 5 eggs and we were starting to wonder if something (a rodent) was getting in and taking 1-2 eggs a day.
Today we got 9 eggs so it isn't that, I guess.
Also had an intruder today....first that we know of. A large raccoon was looking for a way in and luckily my BIL , who lives next door happened to see it and told my husband who took good care of it , that raccoon won't be a problem anymore! DH sent me a picture of it while I was at work but thankfully I didn't see it until I came home for lunch, I was freaking out over the idea of something getting my girls.

Oh yeah and one of the eggs was layed on the lip of the feeder! Silly chickens! Eggs go in the nesting box not the food bowl!

11 from 16, two days in a row. Not too shabby since we're high-latitude and high elevation so days are short and it's cold here at night.
Seeing how many eggs you guys are getting is depressing me!
Out of 25 hens we got 2 eggs last night
(Most are 2-3 years old and some are bantams but still
