I got four assorted cracked and swollen rock-hard turkey & chicken eggs this morning. I probably missed them last night becaused the turkey ones were covered with snow that has since squished down (but not melted). Scrambled eggs for the clucking masses. It was ten degrees. Ten degrees below-not-above-zero when I got up this morning. It is now zero, so .
I did get four mixed chicken and turkey eggs from under a broodyish turkey hen--and a similarly inclined goose surrendered an egg from her clan (not without complaint) for the goose egg incubator stash. For some reason my birds mostly prefer laying later in the day.
3 again. Getting them in the coop was very difficult. It’s raining hard and they want to play. I finally used an idea I had a while back. We have a plastic yellow duck about the size of our Pekin. I put that on one side as I was chasing them around. They no longer could keep doing circles around the coop because they are terrified of it. Finally got them in. @Magnolia Ducks I know it’s raining but those ducklings should be dry by now.
