I don’t know if I posted this yesterday but in the morning fake broody was sitting on two that were not hers. Then she layed one in the afternoon. The poor ducks went through losing Rou this week and now they are in the coop the next couple days while the fence is being replaced. Their world is upside down. It will get worse in a few weeks when the new ducklings show up during the evenings.

It’s the privacy fence between us and the only neighbors plus a little privacy from the road. It’s 22 years old. Half the duck pen is that fence. Between the trees and his Rottweiler, I think that is why we have not had hawk problems.

I got one black East Indie egg. And two black East Indie ducklings today out of my Star Wars day hatch. I forgot how tiny they are.

One egg in the coop today. Fake broody dug a nest of loose dirt by the new fence and sat on it all day. She was unhappy about me taking the egg which was not hers out of the coop. I still say she is fake because when I let them out of the pen, she came with the rest. I let them out only in the open. Still gun shy because of last week.
