How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Mine turned 7 this past April they finally started back laying mid April I didn't think they were even going to lay. Now I have 3 Runner Eggs cooking under my Muscovy :D
Well, maybe it's the shock of their drake since ducklinghood disappearing. I'm thinking owl, but I know there's a bobcat across the street. But I am also thinking that the bobcat is leary of my Ausies.

Me thinks it’s too early in the morning to answer this question . My ducks be laying at random times and in random places it’s like a Easter egg hunt every day
There's always yesterday, but yes, my blue layed at 6:22 yesterday morning, and then the new drake rolled the egg into the center of the coop!
Wyze cameras! Very handy! :yesss:

So sorry you lost your drake. So scary when we know there are predators close by, Here it's snakes. And I am a nervous wreck about having to leave the coop doors open with live ducklings in eggs. I like the snakes being around to eat the mice and rats but not my eggs and babies.

Snakes are tough because they're so stealthy.
We've got coyotes, and it seems that they keep the Trash Pandas (aka raccoons) away. Again, the Aussies seem to keep the coyotes away like the bobcat; seems like their scent is enough. So at the end of the day, the Eagles are the biggest threat. My Aussie comes unglued when he spots one, and he's good at spotting them. I have so many reflective silver flags in my yard that it's looking like a carnival!
I think that it's helping with the Eagles, and it might be keeping the deer away from the fruit trees too.

We have the same predators here, thankfully I have never seen any inside their fenced hlf acre. I have sure heard the coyotes close in the woods though. Very eerie

The Eagles stay along the river thank goodness. Main thing here is hawks and snakes as long as everyone stays inside the fenced part. I have just lost a Speckled Sussex to something because she would leave the fencing and go out into the woods to make her nest.

It's nice you have Aussies to help keep the preds at bay, right now we only have a 14 yr old dachshund he really doesn't help much on the issue of protection. Actually, we have to protect him since we have coyotes and their young around now.
