I'm having such a rough time with losses. I lost a bantam chick that I bought from TSC. It was pretty weak. Now my silver sebright isn't looking so good.

I feel like if I get more birds they'll just pass away

Still one egg. No egg from that darn black East indie do I let them out of their temp pen to play in the back yard for a bit.

My husband told me I don't need more ducks well I've got news for him. We just put down HeiHei and I'm getting as many of these ducklings as I want.

You need the exact amount of ducklings, that if you smushed them together they would fill the Hei Hei size hole he left. That’s a few ducklings I believe

So my free egg experiment has gotten better! I just met a neighbor who not only gave me 2 jars of homemade jam but is also going to give me a bunch of loganberry starts. These starts are a variety that have done well in the area for over 40 years... major score people! Who knew a cooler full of eggs on the side of the road would turn out so well? Also this guy had never tried duck eggs and now he’s hooked... win for me... maybe now I can get more ducklings...

I have a hybrid vigor issue too, my Cayuga/Rouens lay like crazy. I was drowning in duck eggs until I got some neighbors hooked (insert evil laughter)

Just got the first 4 duck eggs of the year lol. One was muscovy egg, I always have that one hen who lays early. Usually the drakes are not even breeding when she starts, doesn't matter anyways though because my 3 mature drakes were killed by dogs last summer and I'm left with 2 juveniles and they are to young to start yet.
