Well, I'll count myself as lucky in that my co-workers pay me $3 a dozen for mine. Everyone says to raise my price but I don't think I will because I'm not in it for the money right now and what I am getting has been great! It pays for the feed, plus. The local Wal-Mart sells their free-range so called organic eggs for $3.50 a dozen with their EggLand's Best brown free-range organics going for $4.00 a dozen. Harris-Teeter, an upscale supermarket here in the Carolinas charges $5.00 a dozen for their brown free-range organics. But I'll keep mine where they are for now. Teresa wants to go down to the farmers' market in Statesville on Thursdays and get a table there and sell them this year and she'll get $3.50 to $4 a dozen for sure. We'll wait until we have 40 hens before we do that, though.

When I was at the Wal - Mart the other day I checked out their eggs.... Seen some brown eggs going for $3. and something, I sell mine for 2.00

Lady just stopped in and bought 3 dozen...

We only sell on Fri, Sat, & Sun. We sometimes are out on Friday afternoon and sometimes still have a couple come Sunday night. I think it all depends on the weather, most of our customers are regulars...so we never really have to worry about it.
