I've got 42 due to hatch March 26/27

1 Dozen today for $3.00. Within minutes after arriving at work I had three more people poke their heads in the door asking for eggs. I should have two dozen tomorrow because I was 1 egg short of the second dozen this morning and the Gals have been doing 17-18 eggs each day. I need more layers!!! I've got 11 more GC's coming on 3/20 but it'll be a few weeks before they start laying.

Wow, you do have a good stock pile..When I first started to sell eggs, I put a small ad on the local Craigslist. From that one ad I developed enough regular customers, that I never needed to run it again. Problem now is the hens are slowing down in production in comparison to the number of people who want them..I raised the price from $2.50 to $3.00 but that didn't slow the demand one bit.

So try an ad on Craigslist, it's free, and sure worked well for me. I also now use it for selling extra veggies through the growing season.

I drop my eggs off to the people I sell to. I am fortunate to have enough buyers that I can do this. I really feel a little uncomfortable about people I don't know driving up here very much. If it was just my neighbors it would be ok.

(Plus then I would always have to be dressed and look nice haha!)

Kuntrygirl... its circulated air hova-bator model 1583, 2362N and we went ahead and got the automatic turner... when dh asked if I wanted one there was no way I was saying no! lol I was like heck yeah.................. least now I can always keep my flock going with my own eggs.

I was going to suggest the same thing about placing an ad on Craigslist. I placed an ad and I was able to get several customers. My craigslist customers are the customers that I meet in neutral locations. I do not allow any of my Craigslist customers to pick up at my home. I have 5 craigslist customers that I meet in various (safe) areas. There is my Post office customer that I meet at the post office . There is my Techinical school customer that I meet at the technical school. There is my Popeye's customer that I meet at Popeye's. There is my gas station customer that I meet at the gas station. And there is my Wal Mart parking lot customer that I meet in the wal mart parking lot. All of my drop offs are at my convenience. I always meet my customers after work on my way home, so I am not wasting gas going all over town delivering a $1.50 dozen of eggs. This is a perfect set up for me. I will be dropping off 7 dozen of eggs today to my post office customer. Everything works like clock work. They are always there waiting for me. It takes less than 60 seconds for the drop off. They email me when they need more eggs. None of them have my phone number.
