How many Eggs did you Sell today?

1 Dozen today for $3.00. Our Daughter, Hurricane Julie blew through last night and absconded with a dozen but fortunately they were the small ones I've been saving for us to use.

7 dozen today at $ 2.00 a dozen. cleaned me out. that was the weeks worth. lol.

I am a little discouraged. I sell all my hens can lay, but I have too many that are not laying--they are too young (luckily that will change), they are roos, or they are pretty little banties.

I got the chickens so I could have fresh eggs to give away and to eat and for our family, but I am working and working for the eggs and I never have enough to sell.

It just seems as if it isn't so much fun anymore. I need to cut way back, I think, and if I don't have enough to sell, well, phooey. I am spending a fortune on chicken feed.

3 dozen today for $3.00/dz. I also traded a dozen to one of my co-workers for a small jar of Habernaro Pepper Jelly. He's the Jelly King here at work and he regularly enters and wins ribbons for his jams and jellies in the NC State Fair each fall. The Habernaro Pepper Jelly is very, very hot but just a little bitty dab of it on a hot buttered biscuit goes a long way. And don't even put out a plate of crackers with cream cheese with this stuff on it. Whoa!!! Anyways, I think I got the better end of the deal this time!!!
