I haven't started selling yet, but I am getting close. I only have 1 doz plus a couple of extras, but I only have a meager 9 hens. I'm just excited to start seeing eggs since they are only 8 months old. I even had a double yolker yesterday!! To those doing organic, how much are you selling your organic eggs for? Mine are also fertilized. I see them in the store for $3.69 Is it reasonable to charge a little less than grocery store price?? Thanks!

You are not in competition with the box stores. You can charge more. Yours will be fresher and last longer. Go to the store and check the dates. You should find a pack on date. Here in Ohio we must put the packaging date on our cartons. Most customer will pay the extra when they know you do a little more with your chickens. Are they free range cage free?
Our local store sell reg eggs for 1.59 to 1.99 a doz. Brown 2.29 little more or less.
We charge 2.75 at our local coop store. We started at 2.25 and were sold out every week. We raised the price to 2.40 and were sold out every week. Organic eggs will bring more. I would start at 4.00 and see what happens. I bet you will sell them all and have repeat customers.

keenecowboy - they are free range, organic, and brown. They are beautiful! :) I will try to do $4.00 and see where it takes me. Thanks for the advice. I would like to get some more hens (Let some go broody) and see what happens. I've been having such a great time doing all of this!! :)
