How many eggs do I leave for a call duck?

I have a trio of calls and two of them have gone broody on the same nest. They take turns stting on them. My question is how many eggs can tehy sit on with out hurting them. Right now there are 9 eggs in the nest. This is the first time they have been laying eggs and 3 so far are developing.

How long have they been sitting on these? If more than a week I would take out all nondeveloping eggs and just leave the 3. Depending on the size of your calls the eggs they can sucessfully keep warm enough to hatch is usually 4-5.

Thank you, I have taken out 4 of them and left 6. Tonite I will take out 1 more. They sit then get off, two of the ducks are taking turns sitting on the one nest. They sure are persistant little buggers aren't they.

My call sat successfully on 11 eggs and 9 hatched.

I have candled one of the nests at one week and all were developing! So now just waiting the 1st ones are due next thursday
