How many eggs do your Buff Orpingtons Lay a Week?

The person who supplies me breeds buffs and he said they don't lay much

I breed Orpingtons of various colours and if fed and looked after correctly you should get 5 eggs per week per bird on average.
Obviously if there are changes such as introducing new birds, moving coops, vermin getting in the coop and the usual moult egg production will take a hit. As a rule happy Orpingtons will lay ok.
I have kept various breeds over the years and found that hybrids are laying machines but for a short time and can be skitish whereas orpingtons are graceful and a pleasure to keep and lay less but are consistent and tend to live longer. That's just my experience, however if you need more eggs get more Orpingtons, that's my thoughts hope this helps
