How many eggs do your Polish lay?

That is wonderful!! What are you feeding them?

I have four buff laced polish that are 3.5 weeks old. We also have 6 barred rock Plymouth and 4 salmon faverolles. Hoping most are hens, we'll see.

I want to start off right. New at this. They are on the medicated food right now. We are building them a big coop so they can all have their own nest, etc. Are yours free range? We are trying to determine how much of a run to give them. We have three dogs so free ran is not ideal at the moment, they are so small. My friend has hers free range but they are over a year old and dogs get along with them.

Thanks for the post, great news!

Polish are awesome egg layers. Sure, the eggs are a bit smaller, but after a couple of years some of my other girls are laying small eggs too and the Polish's eggs are staying the same size.

We have three polish hens that are shy of six months old. One or maybe two out three just laid their first eggs. One yesterday, to our surprise and another today. Not sure which of the girls are laying though. We also have silkies, but are still fairly young to be laying eggs. Regardless, we are quite excited as my husband and I are first time chicken raisers/owners.
