How many eggs for a first time mother?

My D’Uccle’s can cover 5-6 of their own eggs and about 3 large chicken sized eggs. I have to mark them right away because they will try to steal every other chicken and duck egg they can find. My porcelain D’Uccle made a nest up on top of the roof of the well room. I did not even realize it until she started trying to sit and disappeared for the day so I went looking for her. That little girl had 28 eggs she was trying to sit on

I just wanted to add too, that every time my Phoenix hens go broody, they set for 25 days, not 21. I don't know the reason for it, but it's been that way for both of them, twice a year, for four years. I confirm it every time. So if yours don't hatch on the typical Day 21, don't give up on them.
