How many eggs have you had under a broody hen?

Don't know if this counts had a Guinea nest with 4 guineas hens setting on 103 eggs.....I pulled the eggs and broken up them setting, did have 30 keets from the eggs in an incubator.

Guineas are crazy, I had who knows how many single-hen nests with over 40 eggs!! Of course the silly birds were lucky to hatch 8 of the 40, I think they use the bottom eggs as a heat sink

I've had hens on about 15 eggs at a time.....last hen who did that was a big Rir/Cochin hen....I took out about 4 or 5 chicks that hatched early (staggered hatch) and gave them to another broody. When she had only 10 eggs left, all of which were due on the same day I left them. She hatched all 10. Had a small bantam cochin hen on 9 eggs...8 hatched, 1 died.

Currently have a barred cochin (LF) hen who is sitting on 12 eggs. Due tomorrow.

about 22. all but a few hatched, split clutch, hatch ran over around a week or more, and I kept removing chicks as they hatched. She stuck it out till all that would hatch were hatched. GOOD GIRL Tipsy!!!

I suffer from lack of broodiness here. I had my turken go broody and it wasn't until the hatch was half over that I learned I should have marked the original eggs. So, she had 10 and 3 hatched. I have had others go broody, but none ever see it through.
