How many eggs have you hatched in a single Genesis at one time?

With the eggs on their sides--not in a carton, how many is the Genesis able to handle successfully? I'm afraid mine is overcrowded.

I have 60 eggs in it right now on day 20. This morning there were 6 pipsters and now I have to work and worry all day.

The largest eggs are 12 RIR and then I have some blue andalusians, ees and bantams.

So should I be really worried?

I dont think so. My turner holds 42, but a turner eats up a lot of room. You only have 18 more. I doubt it's too crowded.

It depends on the egg sizes. 60 standard eggs would be too much and I'm not sure you'd fit them in there laying down. As long as all the eggs aren't touching each other, you should be fine. Remember, the chick needs room to push the egg open and then places to lay after they hatch. I think when you're about midway thru your hatch, you may find you'll need to pull some egg shells out of there to make room.

I really didn't think this many would make it to the hatcher. Of course, there are some that I couldn't candle but lots more have babies than I was expecting.
