My chickens are 3 months old. 2 EEs, 1 RIR, 1 Austrolorp, 1 Light Brahma hens. And 1 Partridge Rock rooster. How many eggs will I get per week? Right now I'm buying 2 dozen eggs for my family and would like to replace that with fresh ones. My coop is 4x6 so I don't have room for too many more. Plus I know that after a couple of years the egg production will go down. So, how many eggs do you think???

My personal experience with assorted breeds is about one egg per hen every 26-28 hours, except when moulting or ill, waning over time. Production best during first 24 months. You are probably looking at least somewhere around 25-30 eggs a week in best of times.

And they are sooo yummy!!

On a good day you should get 5, since you have 5 hens, right? I figure no hen lays every day so possibly 5-6 per hen a week, So I'd say about 30 per wk, give or take.

Figure to get 5 a week from the hens, and if I was you I wouldnt rely on the Roo for any(the occassional roo egg wont consistly be there like the hen eggs) so I would say 25 a week hopefully a couple more, and unless you plan to supplement light over the winter, plan on less then.
