I have 10 Jersey Black Giants, 8 White Pearl Leghorns, 6 Red Stars, and 7 Rhode Island Reds. All of these are hens. Can someone give me a estimate of how many eggs i will get a day?

Between 20 and 30 a day when they are all laying. They generally skip a day every now and then, some don't lay as well as others, and breed makes a diff., but looks like you have good breeds for egg factories [IMG] Keep em healthy and that is pretty much what you can expect.

I am new to this also, but from what I have heard, you will get about 2 eggs per bird every three days. Mine just started laying about a couple of weeks ago so their laying is a bit erratic right now. There are alot of factors on how many eggs you will get a day (if they are traumatized, diet, when their molt cycle begins later, or even when the seasons change and it begins to get darker sooner - these will drop the production of eggs. - Ken
