How many eggs will she lay before she decides to sit on the eggs ?

I have two bantam hens which I have both left in separate cages so they can nest and eventually go broody on their eggs. My question is how many eggs do both of them need to lay before they clutch is full? also in one of my hens nests one of the eggs broke so replaced them with one from the fridge would she be ok with that or should I remove the egg, oh and I have also added 1 extra egg so she can complete her clutch quicker do you think this would speed up the process. thank you

You can make the conditions ideal for a broody, but there's really nothing you can do to make them go broody.
