How many girls and how many eggs?

Hi, I have 3 Buff Brahma hens, and I get 2-3 eggs a day during the spring and summer when they are laying heavy. Pretty much stop for 3 or 4 months during the fall and winter for molting and when it's cold.

I have Eight Buff Orpington Gals...They are just approaching 21 Weeks old, this coming Wednesday. So far, They have Produced Five Single Yolk Teenies, and One Double Yolk about "Large" size, if bought at a Store. The First Egg appeared at 19 Weeks and Two Days.

So, Calculating........and carry the Two.....The Eggs Have Only Cost Me approx $200.00 USD each!!!!

Wanna Buy a Coupla Dozen? Huh? Huh, DoYa???

We have 4 hens and we get three to four eggs a day. They're all different breeds. During molting and in the winter we'll have days where we get one or two, but often we get three. But, with mild North Carolina winters, we don't get too cold for too long.

LOL, I hear ya, my 3 chickens are 1 year old, 4 pullets 18 weeks old, 2 chicks.... coop 1,000 dollars, pen 550.00 one year later coop expanded and run added 1,700 dollars. my eggs should be made of gold lol, yet I am getting 2 every other day. one is broody all the time, one is hiding them now under the porch the other one every other day. oye

I currently have four hens that are laying. A RIR, red star, black star, and barred rock...on average I get about 3-4 eggs a day and about 18-22 eggs a week. My girls are laying pretty good! There are a lot of factors tho. The happier and stressfree they are the more they will lay. My girls have plenty of space and get to freerange 2-5 days a week for 1-2 hours at a time. They also get aroma therepy (lavendar, roses, and other herbs) in the nesting boxes to help reduce stress while laying eggs. Happy hen makes happy eggs!

My hens free range every day all day and evening, are treated to clean coop and clean surroundings and are given fresh fruit, veggies and snacks. I'm pretty sure there pampered and happy. Heat is a big factor in some slowing of eggs, age, and other factors as well. Heck look at caged birds crammed in cages , they lay non stop .it has a lot to do with bird, where you get them, weather, age etc.

I love the idea of lavender roses and herbs. I have been dealing with a little bit of a problem with my yard smelling. Not the coop but my backyard. This could help them be stress free and my yard smell better!
