This thread is from 2011. The person you replied to has not been on BYC since 2019.Please give your guinea a large coop. The small coop will crowd them. They try to fly to get off the roost in the morning and try to fly to get on the roost at night. Crowded areas can cause injury to the birds. My experience is leg injuries. It will also sound like a war zone in their coop. They are not quiet birds and they get really large. We started with a small coop as well and my husband took the inner wall down to allow them room to roost. Sometimes some of them would stay outside in the run area perched on perches we built for them. The coop was very safe from preditors 1/2 inch grid wire bottom and sides and across any gaps. Anyway good luck. I am introducing 12 to my flock this summer I hatched from my older guinea fowl eggs this year. That will give me 20. I hear they will do better. I just love them they have to come say hi to us every evening and tell us about there day and who is doing what in the coop.![]()
