Interesting use of the trailer. I've made a brooder box out of a pickup shell. It worked great. I was not only able to provide sheltered protection but had the heat lamps mounted along the ceiling area. And as they got bigger I simply moved out the heat lamp and moved the shell to a new "grazing space" similar to using it like a tractor. They stayed in that until they were pullets, opening the door to let them have free range, each day and they'd go back to their shelter at night.
Their roost was rigged to prop up against the "front" part of the shell, next to the wall that would have been next to a cab of a pickup. It was nice since bad weather allowed me to just keep them closed in but the windows allowed plenty of light.
Amazing sometimes what we find can be used for make shift poultry pens and shelters
