How many hours spent with your chickens?

how many hours does everyone spend with their chickens each day? I’m out once im done with homework and spend at least a good 3 hrs outside every day even if it’s for some fresh air.
Yeah, 25 years ago when I lived in Santa Barbara, CA, I spent a lot more time outside. But here in northern Minnesota during winter, at 60 years old, I only spend about 5 minutes per day outside with my chickens. Having said that, today we had a high temp of 28F with blowing winds and snow. So even the chickens did not go outside, they just stayed in the coop.

FWIW, my chicken coop and run are in the backyard and I can see them perfectly from my kitchen, my living room, my computer room, my music room, and our deck. So, if the weather is good, I have chicken TV most of the day. Does watching them from a distance count?

When the weather is nicer in the summertime, I will take some old bread out to the chicken run, sit down on the bench I built myself, and handfeed the chickens for a bit. It's relaxing and I enjoy that. But, for the most part, I got chickens because they are so low maintenance and you can be very successful in raising them without having to dedicate much time to the project.

I normally sit in the run, and drink my coffee, for about 30 minutes in the morning. I let them out and hang out in the yard with them for about 2 hours in the evenings. On the weekends, I do yard work, and clean the coop/run while they're out. That's usually about 4-5 hours.
okay...qualify this question for non retired people

Unless it's cold (which i would still go out for an hour or so) I normally spend a long while feeding them lettuce. I spend hours watching my silkie chicks indoors, and snuggling with them and training to jump on my arms and legs (and taking selfies and photos)
