how many husband building or remodeling chicken coops this weekend

Well it is "Labor Day"... but I'm resting... I did Squaw Peak this morning after having been sick... not a good idea. The folks I took with me enjoyed it. 80 degrees this morning at 5AM.

No husband here... but... I'm getting a lot of building done...
It sounds like there are a lot of us girls that are actually doing the building and remodeling...
Girl Power!

Probably about as many *wives* building or remodelling coops

I'm not, though -- I spent the morning starting a batch of pickles, the rest of the day tearing off and hauling away the rotting old 12x12 deck on the back of the house, and am taking a brief break before dinner (DH is mowing the grass) and then I will finish and can the pickles.

Mind, I do have another roofed run to build before winter. Just not going to happen right now

We have out working in the yard trying to finish various projects. It seems cold here, only in the 60s, it is like October weather, makes me want to get everything ready for winter.

Happy to hear so many women are out their doing it!

I'm the general handy person in the house. My husband is not allowed to touch the tools. He'll hurt himself ...lol
He may be a civil Engineer and able to design a bridge. But he doesn't have a clue to the actual labor ..lol That is ME!
I'm also learning patience with the kids as they want to help and learn. Boy I repeat myself often enough now, and explain basics repetitively too. lol

But we disassembled a coop this weekend, for a friend, and are looking at rebuilding it. Someone else s handy work .... Eakes.
I do not think they measured a single board, and the frame was never even nailed to the base. Ohh boy!

Hubby can build sand plants (ceramic engineer) but I will NOT allow him to touch my skill saw or jigsaw. Or any of my chisels, planes, etc..... I'm much better at wood work than he'll ever be!

Just lil ole me working around here! I spent about 7 hrs yesterday working on my guinea fowl coop and it is finally almost done. Should be able to put the guineas out in it tomorrow.

Today I got the stuff to start on the chicken side of the coop!

That would be us. Trying to finish up the little serama coop. Duh! I forgot to buy extra feeders and waterers for the new coop. So they can't move in till I run to TSC tomorrow or Wednesday.
