My elderly Barred Rock Hen (she's 5), loves blueberries. I was wondering how many individual blueberries you would recommend letting her eat per day? I'd hate for her to get sick on them or get diarrhea? I wonder how many would be about right per day?

I don't know of blueberries being bad for chickens in whatever quantity.. Give her a handful, and if she runs for the border....... then reduce.. If chickens have enough of something, they stop eating on their own,.
Do you have an abundance of these blueberries or are you just a spoiler and buying them regardless.??? By the way.. 5 years old may be taken as an insult by her to be considered an ELDERLY. lol lol

You are right, CaveManRich. She doesn't act elderly at all-- still lays nearly every day and can run faster than the younger hens. HAHA. My neighbor says I've taken such good care of her that she's really only 3. I buy the blueberries, because she loves them so.

Isn't she a pretty girl? A friend just hatched a female offspring of hers. I'm so excited. I want to propagate her genes.

This is a male chick from my 5 year old, hatched a while back:

I think Barred Rocks do come in Bantam size. I'll check...
