How many next boxes?

...for 20 LF hens??

I currently have a single long nesting "shelf", but plan to divide it up into individual nests. The shelf is almost 8 feet long and 18 inches deep. How many boxes should I make it into, and will it be enough room for 20 to lay eggs?

If not, how many more would I need?

My rule of thumb is one nest box for every 4 - 5 hens. So for 20 hens around 4 to 5 nest boxes.

I'd turn that into 5 boxes. Don't forget to take into account the thickness of the material you use to separate them when figuring out your measurements...​
