All I ever need now is the basics that I learned in elementary school,was pretty much a waste of the teachers time unless you go onto a job that you need it for.
How many people realy need more than elementary math in their day to day or job???

I remember most of it right now, but I've got kids who are learning it now. Otherwise, I forget most of it. Then my children go past what I learned in HS, so I'm lost. I got to geometry, other than that, it's all new to me.

Just don't ask me about the calc and differential equations I took in college. THAT, I have blocked from my mind!

I hated Trig, but still remember parts of it. I couldn't teach it to you, though. I loved calculus and statistics, which surprised me. I'm a numbers and math person anyways, so math hasn't really been a big problem for me.

See, I really hate 'splaining about my math to people. I DESPISE MATH....but I happen to be pretty good when I try. Like, "skipped 2 grades and now I have to go to college for math" Nobody seems to understand that.
Somebody said they got to go to college at 16. I wish I could do that. Mother says it would damage my social skills, which is silly because I'm not in classes with anybody my age anyway.
Now...English? LOVE!!!! I took AP English last year..got a 5 on the exam too! I was so afraid I wouldn't pass!
English was my first love, but I think Biology is going to be my true love. Taking AP Bio this year and I can't wait!

x= -b +/- the square root of b^2 - 4ac
---------------------------------------------
2a

Was taught as a song:
x is equal to negative b, plus or minus the square root, b squared minus 4 a c, all over 2a.

Awesome.

Pah........ what math? My math teachers were all the boy's sport coaches. They were only interested in looking down the well developed girls shirts, or passing their jocks, not actually TEACHING math.

Why are the schools teaching them lattice multipications and divisions? We never had that! We always had long division and had to memorize the charts and it would come naturally.

Heaven forbids if I had to teach my daughter that! Talk about a close 40 years differences! She will be going to second grade.
