How many of y'all have 'senior" hens still laying?

I have two BSL girls who are both five years old; one lays almost an egg a day, and the other lays about an egg a week (she is a little chubby and very lazy

) We also have a LS hen who is four years old, and she lays 4-5 eggs a week

I adopted some older hens-they go broody on and off like every 5 days-they drive me nuts-chicken menopause or something! They LOOK old but i think they may only be 3 years-EE and BR. still lay for us.

How to tell if your hen is a "senior"

1) She asks to see the senior Menu at Denny's

2) You have to start buying Chickie Depends

3) Your hens board the Senior Center bus everyday for a noon meal and a game of bridge.

4) They bat their eyes and compete for making meals for the only roo you have in the flock.

5) Social security checks come to your home in then names of Miss Bitty and Miss Snugglefeathers. You cash them anyway, who wouldn't

So far mine haven't entered their "twilight years". I am looking forward to setting them up in rocking chairs and letting them enjoy their senior years. No pressure to lay.

My 5-6 year olds will lay 3-5 eggs a week each, during the summer. They're taking the winter off though.

The 3-4 year olds are still laying almost every day.

My 14 pullets on the other hand are only putting out 4-5 eggs a day- that's the contribution from all 14. No pressure girls, ya know I love you!
