How many of you are breeding colored Sebastopols?

Not much to see.
The boney tip on their wing twists and sometimes makes a few feathers jut out but its not to the extreme of Angel Wing.

I really am interested in some Sebastapols, do you Sebatapol breeders reccomend buyng fertile eggs or day old baby geese?

I would love some for next month or february. I want a pair most likely but most definently a female.....

Is there any other difference other than the curly part of the breast area on curlied breast sebastapols?( please do post some pictures of both to see the difference!!

( Cottage rose your Sebastapols are very beautiful !!)

I don't know of any breeders that are hatching colored goslings out yet
or anybody that has colored day olds for sale.

You might want to try eggbid or ebay.
Caveat Emptor: Hatching eggs are always a gamble,
especially when purchased from online auctions.
Too many people are out to make a quick buck.
Who knows what you might end up with...
or most likely not end up with.

Well i am interested in the white variety instead of the colored ones....would like some pics though of the curlied breasted Vs the other variety...thanks!

I don't have anything for sale right now nor do I sell sexed day olds. (you said you wanted a female)
You might want to try and find a breeder from the south who might be hatching out goslings in Jan. - Feb.
Good luck!

Northern geese seem to be smart enough not to lay until 30 or so days to green here. For us in Maine it was end of March and April. I had snow on the ground here until end of April last year!

Yes, you can. You willl get 25 % no curls at all, 50 % smooth breasted and 25% curly. The "no curls at all" still carry the mutated gene. If you take that bird and mate it to a curly, you will get smooth breasted sebastopols. I talked with Dave H. about this since I received 1 of his birds with no curls. I also had 1 hatch from my smooth to smooth mating last year. I am doing just that this year with 1 of my pairs. I am anxious to see the quality I get. All of the resulting babies will be retained here until I make sure they have curls. Patty
