Baymule, well done by your Momma!  :lau   When our grandchildren were little, the dogs would always stand guard by the high chairs.

I was having a meal at the flame tree restaurant, there where about a dozen ducks ll surrounding two high chairs an excellent source of dropped food.

Speaking of birds. You know all those birds living on parking lots waiting for food? According to my kids they are called "French fry birdies" because they eat all the french fries and crumbs from the kids back seat.

OK, I can't resist. All the talk of dogs licking faces and their own body parts reminds me of a company dog where I used to work. I worked for a garbage company and this big black Lab mix adopted us. She was in dog heaven-lots of stinky drips out of the back of the trucks when they were parked for the night. The driver's supervisor always made a big fuss over the dog and let the dog lick him in is mouth. We always said the reason the dog licked the garbage was to get the taste of the supervisor's kisses out of her mouth.

My sons always knew the fastest way to get my soda was to take a drink from it. I would always give them the rest because I cannot drink or eat after anyone, but for some strange reason, I do not have a problem with my dogs eating from the plates (when I am done, of course). My mother-in-law on the other hand would let her dogs lick her face, but would not let them eat from her plates.

LOL!
I don't let my dogs lick the plates either.. not because of germs but because my roommate has managed to ruin my well behaved pets and I wouldn't trust them for one second to not snatch food from an inattentive lap or from an unattended table - they don't need the encouragement. When I'm around, they eat out of their bowls - period.

No way.No plates and no letting them lick the people.

I got a dog who leaves turdpops on my porch steps right now. Some look eaten. Gross factor with all that crotch and anal gland licking.

.I did watch Curiousity Worlds Dirtiest Man episode ,and tests showed that the humans(atleast those tested) had more mouth germs than the dog. Still, I will pass on giving them food on my dishes or letting them lick me.To each their own!

Lets reverse the situation instead of letting your dog eat or lick off the plate would you eat lick out of their dish? If your DW called you for dinner and the dogs dish was at your spot would you eat out of it? Would the dog be upset? Also what did you do to tick off the DW?

So many questions to ponder.
