How many people keep turkeys and chickens together?

alot of people say that they get a disease from chickens and they get black heads all over the neck n head, but I think that's a little far fetched considering that places Luke efowl and McMurray say you can mix them and by the way, does any one know of a hatchery online where I can get fewer than 6-7 poults?, I don't want to get ten chicks just so I can get a few toms and hens.

I have a flock of 10 chickens. One is a 3 year old Orphington roo. He is super passive. He was badly beaten up and almost killed by another rooster at his previous home. He even had his spurs ripped off. My honey wants to get a tom and hen that will be 1 in june. I can seperate them. My question is has anyone intoduced an older tom to an older roo? The turkeys are used to being with chickens and have a roo on the otherside of the fence. Thank you!

I have introduced adult turkeys to chickens.

Seem to have more issues with hens not liking roos than toms.
