How many people truly have "Backyard" Chickens?

I truly have backyard chickens. I also have house chickens! Next year I'll be on a much bigger property so this will no longer apply. Great poll idea!

We have 10 acres with a house and front yard and We've closed in a backyard as well for the dogs and temporarily the chickens, who will eventually have their own fenced yard and the rest is woods.

I live on 3 acres. I am at the very back of the property some mine are actually FrontYard & SideYard chickens.

In the city. Less than half-acre. I truely have backyard chickens. I don't even have to open the back door. If I walk toward it, they hear me on the wood floors and head for the door.

I have 2 acres kind of in a Residential Area in the Middle of nowhere...... lots of farmland around us and no one lives with in a city block of me. So I free range my Chickies all day but they hardly ever get more than 40-50 feet from the back door I don't have a fence in the back but they stay back there just the same, If I go to the store or somewhere for the day they are right there in the back when I get home. I didn't intend for it to be this way but it sure is convenient that they trained themselves to do this. I used to worry about them but I don't any more. Going on our second year with no losses to predators.

I'm lucky in that my house is fairly close to a no-traffic sort of road, and most of my yard is "backyard." Mine are "backyard" chickens.

ME! We have .93 acres in a rural subdivision... and our coop/run is in the backyard.

Yes, I have a back yard!!!! ...and a front yard...and a side yard, south...and a side yard, north...and I have to mow one of the five acres where my birds live IN THE BACK YARD!
