How many people use a lighting system for your hens to keep laying????

I use a double timer--turns the 20 w florescent Lite Stick on at 6 am, off at 9; on at 4 pm off at 9 (DST) every day. The chickens are into the routine and never seem to have a problem finding the roost. In fact, they are usually on it by the time the lights go off. The only problem I've found is when there is an outage and I haven't reset the clock, they don't like to be awaken in the middle of the night. BTW, with this light usage I've never encountered a problem one way or the other with laying or laying problems. My chickens aren't pets, they're main job is to provide us with eggs and fertilizer.

no light here....I am letting my girls take a natural break...so far from 11 layers, I am averaging 9 eggs a day...if that drops off, that's ok...I would rather they were healthy then have so many eggs.
