How many pigeons can I keep in a 5' by 3' loft? these are Indian Fantails... I'm hoping to be ablte to fit 2 pairs in there maybe 3 is that possible?

Im not an expert. I used to keep rollers and Homers, but am no expert. However I have seen 1 bird per sq ft. noted as a rule of thumb for pigeons.

Just going by my intuition 5x3 seems fine for 3 pairs, especially since pigeons seem to use their space more 3 dimensionally than chickens do.


Now Ill betray my ignorance. Do indian fantails fly, as in will they fly up to roosts and perches. and while im exposed.....are the fan tails always fanned or do they spread them sometimes like a peacock. and do females have fantails?
