Second - you need to give people a chance to respond to your posts. It's against the rules to 'bump' your post. There are so many posts every day that sometimes it takes a day before people see and respond to a post. If you ever have an emergency - write that in the topic line. According to the moderators, if no one has responded to your post by the next day it's ok to bump it as it may have gotten lost in the thousands of posts that come in.
Third - I'm a huge advocate of having more space for our chickens. That is especially true of anyone that lives anywhere with weather that could cause you to lock up the chickens for a day or more (speaking from personal experience here). The more crowded the chickens are during those times the more likely they will start to feather pick on each other.
So, I would suggest you start with 6 to 8 in your coop and then build on a HUGE addition next year when you add the next 20 or 30 you are gonna want!
