Hi guys I am buying jap quail soon and wanted to know how many to buy the dimensions of the cage are
Dimensions
Width: 77cm
Depth: 45cm
Height: 50cm plus 40cm legs.
if u could tell me the maximum in that cage that would be great

I think that is probably too small for japanese quails, but I would say the absolute maximum in there would be two. Anymore and they would be too cramped. However, people generally don't advise keeping them in pairs (mine go fine in pairs though).

Could you post a photo of the enclosure?

So as you know, the general rule is 1 bird per sq ft of floor space. People will argue this either way, but if you stick to that you won't go wrong. The most easily available and cheapest quail houses (both indoor and outdoor) are those meant for rabbits.

From the pure space I would also say 2-3 quails, BUT you need to consider the feeder and water disperser also need space!

If you use a feeder and water disperser attached from the outside, it might work with 3 quails.

e.g.:

For a feeder like this you may need to modify the grattings, that the birds can reach to the outside.
