I would say you will be able to house about 36 breeding boxes if your boxes are 1ft x1ft x 2 ft and use the ends for perches in the loft. That is a bit on the small side but adequate.

When it comes to tampering with nest if at all possible I would wait until your squabs are about 14 days old.

If your birds are in a nest bowl similar to this one

It should be less of a problem.

Every pigeon pair is different however I lost 2 young squabs by my best pair of white homers just by cleaning and tampering with their nest.

In my case the pair refused to use the nest bowl and I cleaned up the area and forced them into the nest bowl when the squabs were about a week old. The squabs perished from the cold as they only incubate the them a short while and abandoned the nest (lesson learned on my part). If I had waited another 7 days I would have saved my squabs.

Good luck in what ever you decide.

so how many pigeons would be your guess that can live in there??? is 15 birds a good kit??? im one of those people who are very very curious with there pigeons meaning when ever they have the first squabi will allways be holding them and the parents will always get used to it meaning they wont be pecking, scetching and puffing up and still raise the young right!! so about how many pigeons fit!!! plz.

oh ok cause i want alot!!!!! i thought pigeons needed space. the pigeon loft is almost the size of a bathroom

ahaha cool im 13 too but im more into chickens and now im into pigeons

It will depend heavily on what kind of pigeon/s you want to keep. tumbler/highflier breeds for instance need much less space and are much happier together than a lot of other breeds, half a dozen to dozen kept and even bred in space size of dresser to closet, especially if free flown, as they will happily return upon command and own. also plan that more birds require more money and care.. feed, meds, cleaning up spilled feed meds water feathers, and all the poop.
